Manto (manjito)

The large shears used by gardeners were known as “manto” or “manjito”.
The ninja would sneak into a castle disguised as a gardener equipped with shears. The shears could be opened to stop a blade or twist an attacker to the ground. The blades were also just right for attacking the vulnerable neck area.

Shakujo

Shakujo is a stick with a tin head that the ascetics used when being attacked by wild animals. The Ninja used this tool as a weapon when disguising as ascetics.

Trick sticks

Methods to maintain vitality

Warming up in the morning

There was a training method that the Ninja practiced everyday which was to support their bodies with their toes and fists lain on the ground for five minutes. By this, the Ninja trained their abdominal muscles and prevented from gaining fat around their waists.

Though it does not seem to be such a hard exercise, it is actually quite difficult to practice. You can shape up your body and spend days in a good condition if you also practice this everyday.
